Animal Services rescued 20 cats and one dog from a home on Whitehouse Creek Road on Sunday after receiving a tip from a concerned neighbor. Horrendously unsanitary conditions inside the home warranted the kitty confiscation – according to Animal Service officers there were eight dead cats found in the home, including rotten carcasses discovered amongst a reported six inches to one foot of feces and urine caked on parts of the home’s floors. The animals are currently getting cozy at the Animal Service’s shelter on Seventh Avenue, while their owner, who will remain unidentified, waits through the investigation to see if she will face charges. She may also request a hearing to ask for some of her pets back.
