In Externalization of the Hierarchy (by A.A. Bailey for the Tibetan) we read: “(those in power)…are the agents of destiny, creators of the new order and initiators of the new civilization; they are the destroyers of what must be destroyed before humanity can go forward along the Lighted Way (the United States carries the Light). They (politicians) are the embodiment of the personality of humanity!” We are to “look not at one person or to one group of persons and accuse them of causing the present world condition. Look not also to any one person or group to bring liberation or to find a solution to world problems. That is for humanity itself to do. Humanity (Ray 3) must take action and will do so, when the right time comes.”

It seemed the “right time” arrived last Thursday during Obama’s speech to 85,000 in Colorado’s open-air stadium. Thousands more stood outside while millions nation-wide watched and listened, many in stunned agreement. Obama gave humanity hope. All across America, something’s stirring, and because humanity is demanding it, change is coming. Let us, together, keep up the demand. We “have promises to keep” to the next generations. ARIES (March 21-April 20)  Those who work for and with you look to you for direction. You’re the structure they need and the light that lights their way. This is not a compliment. Events this week: Out in the Nevada playas, in Black Rock City, the experimental art and self-reliance community, Burning Man, is in full swing. Burning Man’s theme this year—American Dream: Nationality, Identity and the Nature of Patriotism—coincides with the Democratic and Republican conventions. (Big news of the week: Barack Obama announcing Sen. Joe Biden as a running mate.) Simultaneously transiting Mars squares the U.S. Jupiter Thursday, Saturday is new moon at 8 degrees Virgo (when Burning Man burns), and on Monday, Labor Day (we thank those who daily labor to serve us), the Republican Convention begins.

ARIES (March 21-April 20) The week progresses with more and more responsibility, which at first makes you impatient, but then you realize it’s all in a good day’s work to tend to all that you’ve built. Do most of your work in the morning. Afternoons may be filled with relationship issues. Have the intention to complete your work AND to bring balance and Right Relations into all interactions. Then you’ll feel balanced, too.

TAURUS (April 21-May 21)  Careful with health. There’s so much work the thought of it could send you to your bed. Although you’re very strong these days your health is balancing on a precipice needing constant tending. Lots of water, no sugar, nightly calcium/magnesium and turmeric for tired and achy muscles. The golden yellow purifies. Also Yogi Tea De-Tox, standing in the sun, and rest. This is your prescription for several weeks.

GEMINI (May 22-June 20) Tend home fires very carefully. Clean with Virgo detail, seeing into corners and crevices with eagle eyes. Make foods healthful and nourishing, take time with planning and cooking, and be sure all foods, utensils and surfaces are purifyingly clean. Communication could be a minefield with shadows from the past surfacing. Clean those up too. Plan a dreamy sort of trip and keep money close by. Then try to have fun.

CANCER (June 21-July 20) In order for life to progress, the past, held with care, protection, secrecy and in shock, must be unearthed. Your feelings have been harbored so deeply they’ve become tentacles, clinging to you for life support. This cannot be maintained forever. Therefore, as the future beckons, the past begins to dissolve. The suffering is actually a cleansing. Ignatia Amara, the grief homeopath, is useful here. Take it nightly. Three little cell salts under the tongue. Till the grief passes.

LEO (July 21-Aug. 22) A previous idea of self and events surrounding that identity are surfacing. Much of the Cancer horoscope applies to you. However, you are assessing your self within the context of values. Are you valuable? Do you have value, what are your values? Included in your assessments are the value of your relationships and how they served your life. All experiences are valuable. We (you) are valuable. Criticism lessens all value. Praise enhances it (you).

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22) With Saturn in Virgo and joining the Sun this week various feelings surface such as: you’re not enough, don’t do enough, you’re separate from everyone, need discipline, parents are restrictive, you feel alone and criticized, you are criticizing. On the other hand, sensing a new self is forming, your mind alights with new ideas, you recognize the need for analytical study and realize you’re perfect as you are.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22) Early in the week after communication difficulties (and critical thoughts) everything becomes friendlier and you sigh with relief for all you want is Right Relations and when disharmony occurs you must flee. It’s important to note you create some of the disharmony because you’re seeking an even greater harmony. Are you living in two homes or can’t decide where to live?

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21) Everything’s hidden, quite like you. But not your feelings, shooting out from you like flares making you feel vulnerable. Wait a few days and this will cease. Your real concern is money—where it’s coming from and going. Concern about money is good. The tension helps us enter the battle and tension creates attention. You want financial ease and comfort. You will solve this for whatever you put your mind to, you accomplish. You’ll do the same with this challenge.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 20) The battle you’re encountering is your own self-image, self-identity and responsibilities, which are reaching a critical stage. You’re called to extreme measures concerning work details. Don’t criticize yourself or others. You have the capacities and capabilities to withstand extreme pressure. In rare moments of relaxation, visualize hopping over to a harmonious situation/relationship that soothes and calms. The pressure will ease soon (but just for a while).

CAPRICORN (Dec. 21-Jan. 20) Plan finances carefully. They could feel like they’re slipping away. You are extremely responsible but finances can be tricky now. Two areas in your Capricorn chart illustrate the need for constant financial surveillance, planning, tracking, discrimination and discipline. This takes work—along with setting realistic goals, budgets and itemized accounts. Begin with a weekly ledger, keep all receipts, and study expenditures.

You will live within this mystery for a month or more. Take each day quietly and with poise. Interior realities are working on you. Don’t fret or worry. 

I’ve been watching Democracy Now and Free Speech TV. And it seems, in most cases, to be the only voice of reason in our strange and present world-in-upheaval times. I’ve also been wondering where the countercultural edge and champions of revolution are hiding out, where the rare leader of radical politics is, unstoppable in the pursuit of gathering intelligent and clear-thinking people to stand up against the present worldwide political situation. Radio stations are Gemini, gathering and dispersing the information. But where are the bodies, groups and communities of people in protest? Where is the revolutionary folk music? Protest leaders and political artists seem to be lying low. Perhaps they are no more. However, we cannot go back to the old way of politics.

As the sign Leo (leadership, lions) ends this week and turns to Virgo, the new musical project by de la Rocha (and drummer Jon Theodore) called One Day as a Lion (Anti-Records) appeared in the news. ARIES (March 21-April 20) You think about loving your work and those you work with, and in fact communication is good with everyone (though you must battle against critical thoughts). And you want to help others more, which inspires them, and then work is even better and more fulfilling. Loyalty toward you emerges and then new goals are considered and workflow increases and so does success. It’s like a river flowing harmoniously for everyone. It begins with you.

TAURUS (April 21-May 21) You may not be romantic outwardly because of so much work to be done to ensure the future’s sustainability. But this doesn’t mean you feel less love. It’s just that you’re focused and determined and disciplined and must follow your own instincts and intuition and not let relationship concerns get in the way. You seek intellectual activities that also offer fun and a bit of leisure. The environment is kind to you when you travel.

GEMINI (May 22-June 20) Emotional and then physical safety and stability are concerns now and so you must assess, tend to, create safety measures around and then maintain them. Everyone knows you change your mind so often they really can’t make plans with you. But for now, this has eased up and decisions made are decisions you follow through with. Or try to. Something ended last week. What was it?

CANCER (June 21-July 20) You feel the need to communicate with everyone, both casually and in-depth for you realize everyone has a gift and if they simply talk enough that gift emerges and then you learn more and more. You, too, have a gift, in fact, many gifts, and when you speak, when you come out from under your crab shell, then we see your gifts too and we learn from them. You are very perceptive now, more than usual.

LEO (July 21-Aug. 22) There’s an inner and outer reality concerning something. They seem to be in opposition. You think you have to choose one over the other. Do you? Oppositions are actually one and the same thing, only different sides of the coin. Eventually they come together and unify. What is occurring that seems in opposition? Is it spiritual/material factors, self/others needs or values, being worthy or not worthy?

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22) You want to talk about issues and ideas important to you—things held deep inside and not often communicated, what you believe and how you want to serve, your new emerging identity and all the things you hope, wish and plan to do. You’re practical and inventive and thoroughly modern in your approach. These may be important and applicable especially concerning family. You bring a new reality forth.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22) Plans created long ago are now ready to be implemented and you’re on the road toward their fulfillment. I hope all that you expected is available, all that you hoped and waited for. There are some issues hidden behind the scenes not quite ready for the light of day. For now, you’re ordering and organizing your inner self so you can order and organize your outer realities, relationships and environments. Did a dream come true?

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21) If you plan well in advance it would be good to have a get together of friends and acquaintances you care about. It can be social on many levels. Include local sustainable and seasonal foods, scatter several interesting books around, set the music to old jazz standards. Perhaps you could suggest a subject to discuss, like how to create communities (the steps), what people would be attracted to, the focus and purpose of community and how it would prepare everyone for the new times to come. Allow no criticisms.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 20) Do all that you can to create compromise between you and those who see issues differently. Things small can escalate into things quite large. This includes good things, so give those around you what they want and need (as well as you can) and this will be reflected back to you in terms of recognition and rewards. Be dashing as you perform these acts of kindness. You’ll become even more attractive and radiant. Careful with those above you.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 21-Jan. 20) You could feel overwhelmed, upset and angry due to just too many events flooding your reality, not eating adequately and in a timely matter, or simply because you’ve been “on” for just too long. When you’re upset you can lash out with words that hurt everyone, including yourself. Lie low for a while, maintain a bit more solitude, rest and recuperate, allow others to perform tasks while you’re in the garden reading. Tell everyone you need self-care.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 21-Feb. 18) You may need to discuss finances with someone, perhaps a partner or family or friend or roomie. Do this openly with candor, using an informational neutral tone. Do not be frightened to discuss finances. Knowing you’re speaking the truth holds you and those listening. Ask for teamwork, understanding and consideration. In your daily life ingest a bit of humor as things change and then change some more.

PISCES (Feb.19-March 20) The focus is on relationships, those close and intimate. This includes work partners and very close friends. You find yourself of two minds—one seeks to create harmony and goodwill. The other is to increase discipline and efficiency and forge ahead with ideas and plans. It seems the two are opposite and sometimes they are. You will have to bring them together, create a unity and synthesis. It may be difficult. Try through awareness and intention. Then true efficiency and harmony emerge.

There are two festivals this week—one Catholic (the Assumption of Mary) and one esoteric—the Leo Solar Festival, Aquarius Full Moon & eclipse. The Assumption commemorates the resurrection of Mary into heaven. It is Mary’s heavenly birthday. In New York City alternate sides of the street’s parking rules are suspended! In Costa Rica, it’s Mother’s Day.
Saturday is the Leo (Rays 1 & 5) solar festival Full Sturgeon Moon lunar eclipse. It emphasizes the Light of Leo (not Aquarius), and the Soul’s “I am That and That am I” meditative seed thought wherein the Leo personality has finally given up its dictatorship (benevolent though it may seem) and surrendered itself to the Soul, whose qualities are love, unity, wisdom, and goodwill leading to Right Relations. Sirius plays its part in this cosmic drama, too. Love falls to Earth.
We remember during lunar eclipses (moon shadowed by the Earth) something in form and matter ends. This Leo solar festival, full moon and eclipse occur at 2:16 p.m. (Pacific time) at 24.21 degrees. A full moon is an opposition between the Sun and moon. ARIES (March 21-April 20) I have written a lot about Leo gathering the gifts of self, those creative endeavors developed through lifetimes, and then turning toward the group (humanity, their like-minded community) and offering their gifts with humility, with quiet pride, with love and benevolence. This is your task now as the Leo solar festival makes you a Leo synthesized into Aquarius. You can do this.

TAURUS (April 21-May 21) How and what you’ve felt about home is vastly changing. There is something from the past concerning home that simply must be dealt with. I know this may be difficult and an old task for you. This must be done to prepare for the new ways of life you will introduce concerning how a home can be used for adequate survival and sustainability. Ask for help.

GEMINI (May 22-June 20) Previous ways of thinking will prove to be too limiting for you. There is a call or perhaps you’re being driven to see reality within the larger spiritual context. You may have to pass through the door of Chiron who offers wounding experiences. But these then lead to a more expansive awareness that is whole and structurally nourishing. You will need to discipline yourself for a while. Study is a level of meditation.

CANCER (June 21-July 20) Money issues continue to occupy your mind and heart. In the next three months significant changes will occur with your resources. This is not a frightening situation. Simply observe. These changes may come directly from you as you assess the ins and outs of your finances. You make these decisions based upon your knowledge of the future. Consult with someone you trust. Then trust your intuition.

LEO (July 21-Aug. 22) It’s still Leo’s birthday time and Sirius is still streaming Love directly to Leo hearts (and ours too) and so eto ach this is an important time. The Leo solar festival underscores the fact that having developed your identity and your gifts, you must now place them where they serve others (including the different kingdoms). This theme, presented for weeks now, is at its peak, just like a meteor shower. There’s a pressure for you to give even more of yourself. Why? You’re the repository of the Love principle directly from the Sun.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22) The Sun during the solar festival makes you a bit internal. It will be good to focus upon your daily tasks and the ways they serve you, family and your environment. It is good to take each task and slowly complete it, making those tasks meditation. An organized response allows you to ponder upon great and mysterious things. Obligations and deadlines are important but your health is more so. Tend to it very carefully.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22) A sort of freedom occurs during the Leo solar festival. The arts and cultural events, fun and pleasure, friends and partying provide a refreshing change to the constant work you’ve been doing. There may be some difficult health situations that call for rest and more solitude. Soon your life will move faster and faster. Rest now. When the new people enter your life, remember to combine power with love.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21) If there seems to be a dissolution of things concerning home and family know that it’s a refinement. Know that you may be called to tend to home in various ways. Perhaps several rooms, especially the kitchen, need redoing, or the pipes or windows need replacing, or the comforts of home are no longer comforting. You will seek comfort at work and find it’s not there either. Something new is coming. Where the wound is gives you a clue.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 20) To stay or go, to be here or there, to think quickly or to seriously ponder, to have opinions or philosophize, to sleep or stay awake, to hold onto or release (through acceptance), to enter or hold back, to gain fresh perspectives or remain with the old, to explore or hide under a rock, to buy or sell, to be open or closed, to extend yourself or be afraid, to entertain or be entertained. Whatever you choose in these polarities, take 30 percent of your money and put it in silver coins. Now that’s a good decision.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 21-Jan. 20) Read the last two lines for Sag and follow up on the suggestion. You are concerned with money. That’s a good thing. But you also have the wisdom to know what to do as your intuition guides you. The coming times will call for living more simply, sharing with family and friends in such a way that a sense of trust and community are developed because all resources will need wise handling for several years to come. You sense this. Gather the family close and learn together.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 21-Feb. 18) It is important that you realize how you communicate and tend to others. How you respond and care for them, deeply affects your life and future. You will receive what you give. Also take care that your appearance reflects how you would like to be seen in the world. You may change how you look because your self-identity is shifting, taking its time to choose who you are now. Who are you? We don’t know yet.

PISCES (Feb.19-March 20) You and another who is important to you are embarking upon two paths though you also have one vision, one destination. There is separation yet a coming together; heart and mind connections, yet creating the future in two different ways till the past, present and future merge. Do you understand? There is sadness, there is freedom, there is taking the path often not chosen. There is acceptance. You’ll be fine. Depend on that.

ARIES (March 21-April 20) Notice you begin to seek perfection, first at work and then with partnerships and relationships, till finally you find you’re tense and critical about everything and everyone. Be aware of this and try not to fall into this dead-end way of being. Venus is in Virgo and one could enter into criticism or tend toward service because Virgo is about service to one another, after tending to the self.

TAURUS (April 21-May 21) You may find your attention directed toward the animal and/or plant kingdoms. For some reason your intimate relationships are either doing well, are somewhere far away, or there’s no one intimate around. Therefore you concern yourself with the kingdoms that need you. If it’s gardening, plant a garden of white and gold and figure out what roses to choose when bareroots are available. For the animal kingdom, tend to their health, teeth, fur, fins, or wings. Their devotion serves us as they learn how to be human.

GEMINI (May 22-June 20) Some of us, feeling we have little safety or constancy and experiencing emotional vulnerability, seek security and hope at home wanting it to fulfill our deep and needful longings. Is this you, Gem? It’s good therefore to tend to the home environment— from cleaning and refurbishing to decorating and adding features to create more safety and security. Being attentive to all that surrounds us creates a reflective golden light to shine upon us. Get down on your knees and begin scrubbing.

CANCER (June 21-July 20) Concerned about money you attempt to clear bills and debts quickly. Pay bills as they come in the mail. Then you worry less and can concentrate on communication, important now as casual social interaction which eaves you free.  You’re curious about everything. It’s time to contact siblings, old school mates, neighbors by phone or emails. You’re seeking and learning. The times are a’ changing.

LEO (July 21-Aug. 22) Finances and resources will take a turn upward and although you can be practical, you may seek unusual luxury items that enhance your self-esteem. Should lots of money find you, research how to maintain its value— by investing in silver, for example. You will want to manage your resources in these unusual times in unexpected ways as the tried and true financial path is quickly crumbling. Remember to tithe to organizations that assist those in need, including the animal kingdom.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22) You may be looking in the mirror wondering how you’re seen by others and consider a change in appearance from hair to clothes to types of shoes. You want to be attractive. Go beyond that and seek to be stylish, hip and auteur-like. Altering how we look alters how we feel about ourselves. Tend to forgotten tasks put off for a rainy day of which there won’t be any soon in these dog (god) days of summer. It’s a happy time for you. Hang crystals in all windows.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22) There are several messages attempting to get through to you and they affect your future. These messages are possibly coming through dreams. Have at your bedside pen and paper should you wake in the night (are you sleeping well enough?) with remembered dreams or impressions. A sort of gentle-ing process is trying to bring you to the next level of consciousness in order to create greater Right Relations. Art will help this. Remember yourself as artist long ago?

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21) It’s important to maintain diplomacy amidst overwhelming responsibilities. You’re to be with others, in groups with like-minded people who, like you, have very high objectives. Stand equal with everyone, including superiors. You have an authority that others recognize. Do you? Tend to self with disciplined kindness. Do not control others, as you would not have them control you.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 20) Yes, others who are Sag have been feeling their work is less than desirable, sliding dangerously into boredom and not meeting financial, emotional, psychological or intellectual needs. They wonder what to do and seek freedom and fulfillment— sort of a revolution. They also want fame and fortune. All of our aspirations are embryonic stages of what eventually will be. Life events are slower than our fiery thoughts. So what do you suppose we must develop along the way?

CAPRICORN (Dec. 21-Jan. 20) Solemn questions about the meaning of life and your life in particular come up. Simultaneously you’ll be meeting new people. But there’s something deeper. Continue with your manifestation drawings and writings with your family. This exercise isn’t just for one day. Your daily work creates the magnetic field around you and what you need, and one day the two fields unite based upon your constant attention. Remember these words—off the grid, sustainable, agrarian, community, water, greenhouses.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 21-Feb. 18) Notice if you feel certain levels of crisis. These are small psychological signposts that your emotional life is changing and shifting to include more kindness, then forgiveness becomes very important. There may be some sort of windfall of money. Make sure you research what’s best to do with your finances. Don’t simply do as you’ve done before with money. A new reality is emerging.

PISCES (Feb.19-March 20) Your need to order, beauty and harmony in relationship and your surroundings, will assist you in making some very difficult decisions. But when you do act upon those decisions events will go smoothly. You are very sensitive to deep psychological situations within and around you. A challenge will present itself. You must focus upon what your needs are. When they are met you can then assist others. If you always give yourself away, soon you’ll simply disappear. Don’t. We need you.

Friday, 3:12 a.m. (Pacific time) is the Leo new moon, total solar eclipse. We know that eclipses bring about change, specifically a change in direction and there is a difference between a solar eclipse (at new moons) and a lunar eclipse (at full moons). Solar eclipses mean the Sun, our essential life energy source, is hidden by the moon. The Sun’s light and life-giving radiations are, for several moments, obscured—symbolizing that something essential within our lives will also be hidden, eventually to disappear. Eclipses take six months to manifest and their effects occur within three months prior to the eclipse and three months after. The degree of the new moon (seed of an idea appears) is 9:31 Leo. The United States and each of us individually (the Leo task is to develop individuality) will be deeply affected by this new moon solar eclipse. This eclipse chart takes us back to Aug. 11, 1999 and July 30, 2000. Something from those dates and times reappears for further completion and redirection, allowing us to take actions that move us forward without obstructions. It’s not Mercury retro yet (that’s late September), but the eclipse brings these forth and the new moon asks what will you do and how long will it take to make those momentous decisions in dire need of completion? GEMINI (May 22-June 20) What are you thinking? Are you sleeping? Are ideas being impressed upon your mind concerning your future? There is a bit of organizing that needs doing. Is that at home? And there’s some communication that needs communicating. What is it about? Did something from the past appear — a feeling, situation or person? You must ponder the future seriously (Sirius). It won’t be what you expect.

CANCER (June 21-July 20) Resources and money will be deeply considered with new ideas on how to use your finances. It’s possible a new value system emerges due to your knowledge of the present world situation. As the new moon eclipse presents you with new ideas and direction, observe any changes in your thinking concerning resources, their availability, source, and how you express yourself through them.

LEO (July 21-Aug. 22) Happy Birthday to all Leos this week. How interesting to again have an eclipse in your sign. Sun, Moon, Mercury, the south node and Venus form a stellium (many) planets in your sign so potent energy streams toward you from the heart of the Sun creating many changes and a lasting ending to parts of your past. Your gifts are many because they are needed. On this birthday re-commit yourself as the world disciple.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22) The Leo planets are resting behind the scenes in your house of contemplation, spirituality and listening for the voice of God. Maybe some have crept into your first house of self-identity, too. It’s therefore a proper time for rest and relaxation, for pondering the future by gathering all strands of the past, and by assembling new work and daily life agendas. Things may feel a bit chaotic but you’re able to form new harmony from the disruptions.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22) Review your future wishes, hopes and dreams. Take time away from work and family responsibilities, from relationships and social interactions to, in solitude, interact with your inner self. You need reacquainting with your true goals, desires and aspirations, your priorities, values and inner dialogues. The planets are shedding intense light on these issues. They shape the quality of your future, the success of which depends upon you developing Right Human Relations. 

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21) Read and follow Libra’s instructions. Then be aware that your two rulers (Mars the tester and Pluto the transformer) are challenging each other and this challenge will be reflected and thus felt in your life possibly with friends, your bank account and with communication. On inner levels you may be challenged to learn how to bring more harmony and goodness, more resources and kindness in your life. Hint: give, give and give some more.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 20) OK so maybe if you’re observant you’ll feel like you’re awakened from a deep sleep and suddenly all you’ve longed for (others, adventure, travel, change, opportunities) may be available. And then you’ll have to make choices (not easy) about what actually enRICHes you; how best to explore the recesses of your mind, heart and the world actually; and what perspectives are seeking to infiltrate your very being. Blame everything on the eclipse.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 21-Jan. 20) You can more easily move toward intimacy—it isn’t just another word for sex. It means love and wisdom, contact (releases love) and sharing, giving and receiving, tending toward and moving closer to all that you love. This is an opportunity this week and for the next three months. Therefore have the intention to work consciously with this divine influence. The outcome is surprising.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 21-Feb. 18) With all communication in the coming week and months, remember to use a tone of nurturance. You will be communicating more with others due to an emphasis in work, relationships, love affairs and all things artistic and creative. Remember to radiate kindness and conscious goodwill.
