Discover exhibits of local forests, wetlands, and grasslands. See and hear bees in our observation hive. Grind acorns in the Ohlone room, touch sea stars in our tidepool tank, and climb on the back of our life-sized grey whale statue - and all for free, every first Friday of the month! The Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History has been bringing the delights and wonders of the natural world to Santa Cruz residents and visitors for over 100 years. From its early beginnings at the Santa Cruz Light House, the Museum collections and displays have been housed in various locations in the City. The Museum has made its home in the Seabright neighborhood since 1932, where it continues to bring engaging exhibits and programs to school children and the public alike.
