Albatrosses travel thousands of miles across ocean basins, returning to land only to nest. Midway Atoll, a tiny island in the remote Northwestern Hawaiian chain, is one of the world's largest albatross colonies, hosting more than a million birds. Sharing his experiences from 20 years at Midway, Breck Tyler, specialist in seabird research at UCSC, will tell us about the ecology and conservation of these Pacific ocean wanderers. Doors to the lecture open at 12:30. Seating is limited.
