Last week we launched our weekly Win It and Wear It Contest, based on the tremendous success of this year’s Fashion Issue with GT. The contest ended on Aug. 24 and the winners are:
August Mae Ring: Zeyna
Manu panties: Diane
Our NEW CONTEST STARTS TODAY, and ends Sept. 1
The new prizes are:
** Hand-made necklace from Stripe (see photo). ** Facial and gift from Beauty 360, Santa Cruz.
All you have to do is leave a comment here at this blog and tell us about something you’re obsessed with in fashion. Then, check back in a week to find out if you're a winner. And in the meantime, keep reading Obsessive Beauty in between, to discover the latest in beauty and fashion.
Stripe, a Downtown Santa Cruz retailer (reminiscent of Anthropologie) is a popular shopping destination where fashionistas can find hand-made jewelry like the necklace shown here, leather goods by Nuala, and clothing by Lex Designs, as well as bath products, children’s goods, and much more. Stripedesigngroup.com.
Think of Beauty 360 as an alternative to Sephora, with more hands-on service, and the friendliest staff you’ll meet. The Santa Cruz location is next door to the CVS on Mission Street, and the store boasts lines like the celebrity favorite Mario Badescu, and many others. Beauty360.com

Obsessed with finding new life for last year's threads

With the season change around the corner, I have been looking for ways to spruce up my fall/winter wardrobe by adding new accessories to not so new basics. Specifically, scarves and hats. A simple addition of a scarf can add so much color and life to a basic outfit. A hat, well, for me, it's about something bright and cheery to look cute even in the rain!

I love to create something that was once a throw away and bring it back to life. Retro to chic and much more! Hopefully that will catch on more and we can all bring styles back that were once forgotten.....
Love the necklace.
Love the necklace.

Wow! Thanks for these giveaways!
Lately I've been obsessed with belts...not just in the belt loops, but getting creative making my flowy dress more a line by putting a belt higher up top or turning my blouse into a mini over leggings.

I've most recently become obsessed with accesorizing. Accesories can take a simple, but classic outfit and turn it into something a little edgy or fun and pull everything together. I count shoes as an accesory because they really can make or break the outfit. When I visit Santa Cruz, visiting Stripe will be a have to.

What I love and am obsessed about fashion is recycling and being green. I love to buy used clothing and gloat about the awesome price I paid! I also am obsessed with chams like the necklesses pictured about, they are so classic and timeless! I love it!
