Summer officially arrives this week, which, for many of us, includes attending some our area’s finest events. Certainly, it’s hard to pass up any of this summer’s theater offerings.

No, not under any circumstance should drones, without the knowledge of the public, be circulated in our air space.

This Sunday (overshadowing our future) Uranus (revolution) and Pluto (transformation) join together. They will create the same revolutionary demand for freedom as they did in the 1960s. Then, Uranus joined Pluto in Virgo and a new awareness of freedom appeared within humanity. This week Uranus joins (squares) Pluto again. Squares inform humanity new directions must be taken. Our previous directions (ways of life) are no longer available.

One of the pleasures of living in Santa Cruz County is, perhaps, knowing that we reside in somewhat of a protective bubble. (To some extent.) Most locals may like to believe that we are often shielded from the “outside world.” “Life is more more manageable here,” we think.

My most cherished memory was doing math problems with my mom early in the morning with a beautiful view of our backyard and spending time with her.

Thursday is Flag Day, Sunday is Father’s Day, Tuesday is new moon (29 degrees) in Gemini and Wednesday morning is Summer Solstice as Sun enters Cancer, sign of the nurturing principle and the Gate where Spirit enters matter. The unfurled flag symbolizes our nation and people’s freedom and liberty.

Sometimes “15 minutes of fame” lasts much longer. It may be of no shock to locals that the annual Burning Man festival has become as popular as it is. But it may surprise you just how many people the big, bold desert event has attracted over the last few years.

The future of Burning Man as it is is quite bleak, so I'd say the future goes towards thinking about pooling resources together and creating a sustainable piece of land, nurture it towards festival grounds, of and for the community, that can actually be a place that can be sustainable with resources that can grow. It's not just throwing resources into a burning desert situation.

This week’s occultation of Venus (passing over the Sun) overshadows our world for months to come, signaling a series of financial situations leading us further into a state of economic awareness (there is a crisis). Venus’ occultation also prepares us for the upcoming June 24 Uranus square Pluto (revolution and transformation of the ‘60s reappears).

I appreciate the quote of the week from Dan Savage (below). It’s so very “no matter where you go, there you are”and another reminder, perhaps, of the beauty of self-awareness—and the responsibilities that often come along with it.
