The Homeless Garden Project store. Because it is a community effort and has really useful and beautiful things, and allows you to connect with a lot of folks who are doing great work in Santa Cruz.

Giving and Giving, Then Giving Some More

Giving and Giving, Then Giving Some More

2014 is almost over. Wednesday, Dec. 17, the Jewish Festival of Light, Hanukkah, begins. We are in our last week of Sag and last two weeks of December. Sunday, Dec. 21 is winter Solstice, as the sun enters Capricorn (3:30 p.m. for the west coast). Soon after, the Capricorn new moon occurs (5:36 p.m. for the west coast)—the last new moon of 2014. Sunday morning Uranus in Aries (revolution, revelation) is stationary direct (retro since July 22). Uranus/Aries create things new and needed to anchor the new culture and civilization (Aquarius). We will see revolutionary change in 2015. Capricorn new moon, building-the-personality seed thought, is, “Let ambition rule and let the door to initiation and freedom stand wide (open).” Capricorn is a gate—where matter returns to spirit. But the gate is unseen until the Ajna Center (third eye), Diamond Light of Direction, opens.

Winter solstice is the longest day of darkness of the year. The sun’s rays resting at the Tropic of Capricorn (southern hemisphere) symbolize the Christ (soul’s) light piercing the heart of the Earth, remaining there for three days, till Holy Night (midnight Thursday morning). Then the sun’s light begins to rise. It is the birth of the new light (holy child) for the world. A deep calm and stillness pervades the world.
The entire planet is revivified, re-spiritualized. All hearts beating reflect this Light. And so throughout the Earth there’s a radiant “impress” (impressions, pictures) given to humanity of the World Mother and her Child. The star Sirius (love/direction) and the constellation Virgo the mother shines above. For gift giving, give to those in need. Give and give and then give some more. This creates the new template of giving and sharing for the new world.

What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done to celebrate the holidays?

I went up to a Santa and asked what he wanted for Christmas, and it turned out that he was a hired homeless man. It was really crazy, but really rewarding in the end.

Understanding Sagittarius and its Symbols

Understanding Sagittarius and its Symbols

Sagittarius is the sign of direction. The arrows of Sag are sharp, and pointed in a specific direction. The archer guides the arrows toward a specific goal. The goal is truth and justice—the virtues of Sagittarius.

The sun transmitting Sagittarius light to Earth has a specific goal—that of justice, truth and right judgment. The sun is the father aspect. Each of us, son/daughter of the father, is to follow the father’s (sun’s) direction each month (different tasks provided in each sign). In Sag we set goals through our imagination (mind). We gather all energies and previous experiences (the food of life) and aim the arrows of our imagination toward our goals. Our imagination releases a light from our head center. In meditation, Jupiter, the lord (ruler) of Sag, provides direction, guidance and expansion.

When a sense of direction is rightly developed, purpose comes forth and the personality aligns with the divine plan (God’s thoughts). We are not to look hither and thither for direction. We follow the direction (arrows) set for us by the Soul. Thought has power. When the imaginative mind releases (like arrows) such power in a given direction, the goal is reached. Arjuna, a Sagittarius student, was given right direction by Lord Krishna (the Teacher). Consequently Arjuna fulfilled the plan.

In the Bhagavad-Gita, Krishna (the Teacher) of warrior-student Arjuna, says “I am the month of Sagittarius. I am the Teacher and the Teaching.” Artemis/Diana are the female Sagittarius deities. Sag is the photographer. Sag’s focus brings forth expanded awareness and consciousness through Jupiter, the planet of great generosity and love (Ray 2) leading to wisdom. We focus on what presents itself. Sunday, Uranus squares Pluto again (sixth time). It’s the revolutionary transformative agent initiating us into the Aquarian Age.

Festivals of Light in the Darkness

Festivals of Light in the Darkness

In the darkness of the season humanity creates festivals of Light, and there are many festivals this week. This is how ancient humanity withstood winter each year. We are ancient humanity. Sunday is the second Sunday of Advent, ending at midnight on Dec. 24. Advent nightly candle ritual brings light to the dark, preparing us for winter solstice’s birth of light. Advent means “something’s coming.” The feast day of St. Nicholas (the real Santa Claus) is Saturday, Dec. 6. Monday, Dec. 8 is the Immaculate Conception—a holy day in the Catholic Church commemorating Mary’s (mother of Jesus) high (pure) level of consciousness at birth. Mary, one of the Masters, “mastered” the Earth plane school. Also on Dec. 8,, 1941 (Japanese time) WWII was declared (the U.S. entered the war) after Japan attacked Pearl Harbor.

Next Wednesday, Dec. 10 is Human Rights Day, an honoring of equality, bringing light to the darkness created by ignorance. It commemorates the day in 1948 that the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We thank Eleanor Roosevelt. Eleanor had Sag rising, Libra Sun, Mercury and North Node. Sag is the sign of justice. Libra, the sign of equality. Eleanor represented both.

We’re in Sagittarius now, sign of food, music, the photographer, adventurer, philosopher, chef, rider on the white horse. Sag’s eyes, always on the Capricorn mountaintop, seek the arrows of intuition scattered everywhere. Sagittarius holds high and noble aspirations. Esoterically it is the aspiration of the Soul to return to the Father (Capricorn’s mountaintop), our source and origins, riding toward the Path of Return. Thus Sag, energetically, is a “beam of focused light revealing the Greater Light ahead.” Jupiter rules Sag.

The Tibetan writes, “Jupiter brings together and binds in friendliness.” Thus, in the season of giving (through Jan. 6, Feast of the Three Kings), let us be generous with our light, our money, resources, gifts, love, friendship, goodness and wisdom.

We Hold These Truths to Be Self-Evident

Saturday, July 4, is the 239th birthday of the United States, commemorating the signing of the Declaration of Independence (the U.S. astrology chart has Aquarius moon—freedom for its people, by its people). Cancer, a liberating and initiating sign, is the “gate” where Spirit enters matter. Cancer receives and distributes Ray 3 (Divine Intelligence) and Ray 7 (new rules, new rhythms, new free nation under God). Cancer represents an intelligent freethinking humanity that can and must create right economics for the world. This means a policy of sharing, an opportunity for the U.S. when Venus (money, resources, possessions, etc.) retrogrades July and August in Leo (the heart of the matter). The United States has a unique spiritual task for the world: to lead humanity within and toward the light, accomplished by its people who must first awaken to this task, learn discrimination and be directed by the soul to assume the Herculean task of spiritual world leadership. Let us review the first words of our Constitution: “We the People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish justice, ensure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this constitution for the United States of America.” Let us form that union together. The following is a review of the spiritual tasks for each sign. Read all the signs. They all apply to everyone.
