Mercury in Cap. Plus: A Retrograde

Mercury in Cap. Plus: A Retrograde

Mercury entered Capricorn the last day of November. With Mercury in Cap our communication becomes bare bones, essentially informational. Those born with (and during transits of) natal Mercury in Cap can sound harsh, unsympathetic, insensitive, unforgiving, strict, stringent, austere and authoritarian. That is not their intention, however strict their communication sounds. Capricorn, Saturn ruled, is concerned with and thus simply goes to the "heart" (core) of all matters. Mercury in Cap speech is purposeful, methodical, resourceful, exacting and rigorous. Don't push them to speak quickly. Allow them time to gather their thoughts. Mercury in Cap has crystal clear judgment, a special authority.

Light in the Darkness

Light in the Darkness

December is dedicated to Advent, Catholic Latin word “adventus” meaning “(something’s coming”)—winter solstice, sun turning northward, new light, birth of the holy child, revelation). For four weeks we light candles summoning hope in the dark half of the year. Simultaneously, Wednesday evening, Hanukkah, eight-day candle-lighting Jewish festival of lights, begins. Both religious festivals are about preparation, (re)dedication and the kindling of (our) light (hope, promise) within the darkness (of matter).

Friday the U.S. has a Saturn return, 14 Libra (relationship with others). Saturn returns mean strictness, discipline, solitude, hard work, separation and loss of what is no longer useful. And so, as of this writing Drudge Report reports the new Wiki-leaks. Uh oh. Veils of secrecy drop with classified communication (accepted by all nations) released. This will affect relationships (Libra) with other nations. Transparency, although uncomfortable, is needed for the new culture and civilization to emerge. Saturn is both teacher and Dweller on the Threshold. The Dweller shows us past missteps and the Teacher helps us learn lessons. Everyone, everything (even nations) are always in a developmental (learning) stage.

Release of the Feminine

Release of the Feminine

As Above, So Below & Happy Birthday, Findhorn
As the Aquarian Age unfolds, there is a developmental task humanity will recognize as their responsibility (and gift). It is the recognition of and work (co-creation) with the Devic (Angelic Beings of Light) kingdom, the builders of all form on Earth. Working side by side with the devas (this was the original work of the Findhorn Community), humanity begins to identify as the World Disciple, assisting in creating the new rhythms, order, culture and civilization of the new Aquarian Age. Humanity and the devic (angelic) kingdoms are parallel evolutions. The devic kingdom is the feminine (receptive) aspect to humanity, the masculine (radiatory). When an event representing the feminine (Venus direct) occurs in the sky, something occurs here on Earth as well.

Venus Direct & Scorpio to Sagittarius

Venus Direct & Scorpio to SagittariusOn Thursday, both Jupiter (in Pisces) and Venus (in Libra) turn from retrograde to stationary direct. On Monday the Sun moves from Scorpio to Sag. We shift from deep waters to the plains; from the eagle to the horse; from the depths to seeking the heights; from the star Antares to the Galactic Center; from the opal to the topaz; from Mars to Jupiter; from Orion to Chiron; from Tuesday to Thursday; from the sign of death and regeneration to the sign of the adventurer, riding the white horse, bow and arrow in hand, seeking the mountain tops of Capricorn. Both Scorpio and Sag are signs of discipleship. Sunday morning we have a full moon solar festival (9:27 a.m., West Coast) at 29.18 degrees Scorpio. Called the November Hunter’s Moon, it’s also a blue moon, being the 3rd full moon of four to fall in a season (from fall equinox to winter solstice). The meditative seed thought the NGWS recite during this Scorpio solar festival is “Warrior I am and from the battle I emerge triumphant.” Scorpio is always triumphant.
On Thursday, the U.S. has transiting Jupiter opposite Neptune. Jupiter brings forth abundant energies, Neptune either illusion, grace or spiritual contact. During oppositions polarities are pointed out, everyone’s mad, rejection occurs, then a gradual integration begins. Jupiter and Neptune are rulers of Pisces, sign of the world savior, sign of saving the world—the esoteric task of the United States.

Safeguarding Freedom

Safeguarding FreedomVenus (Ray 5 of Concrete & Scientific Knowledge, the Aquarian ray of Knowledge) is now our Morning (Dawn) Star. In Libra and retrograde (till the 18th), Venus calls forth, from the depths of each of us, loving intelligence justice, balance, equality and Right Relations, the first step toward Goodwill.

Thursday is Veterans Day. Let us actively honor those who have safeguarded freedom for humanity. The United States this week begins a series of difficult and transformative transits lasting into 2011. Friday, during Aquarius moon (the U.S. has Aquarius moon, 18 degrees), Saturn squares (90 degrees) the U.S. Sun. The moon in a country’s chart signifies its people. Squares challenge us to change direction. During the present Venus retrograde (in Libra) a change of direction must include a new economic structure within the U.S. and presented to the world. With Saturn square Sun there can be a sense of isolation, of being misunderstood while attempting new disciplines, organization and order. Saturn, the teacher, creates new regulations, direction, guidelines, parameters, bringing strict order out of chaos.

Knowing Your November

Knowing Your November

T he heavens are busy this week. Friday morning Chiron turns direct (26 Aquarius). As wounds manifest in the outer world, holistic approaches are sought. Friday night is Scorpio new moon, 14 degrees (degree of Venus retrograde). Scorpio/Venus underscore the new monetary structure that must come forth in our world, led by the United States whose esoteric purpose is to lead humanity into the “light.” From Nov. 6-9 the United States has transiting Mars (Sag) opposite natal Uranus (Gemini). Oppositions mean something new integrates. With Mars/Uranus a fierce revolution appears, disciples enter the battle, desire becomes aspiration to build everything new. Late night Saturday Neptune turns direct. We have less confusion; the “waters of life” appear everywhere. Sunday morning, 2 a.m., daylight-saving time ends (time “falls back”). Sunday night Venus re-enters Libra. Venus and Libra bring economic issues to the foreground. Venus retro signifies a reassessment of values, an investigation into things hidden (bank foreclosures and seized homes), a restructuring of our principles, standards, morals, ethics. A question (to ask of our selves, our town, city, county, state, nation, government, the world) is “What do we value?” Scorpio is about our and other people’s money. The field is ripe for a transformative economic structure. We remember in Scorpio, Mars brings forth the Nine Tests for humanity urging us to bring harmony out of chaos (Ray 4), raise the lesser values (desire) to the higher (aspiration). In Scorpio we battle with crystallized (old) ways and behavior. Humanity is in battle at present to reorient the economy, from greed and materialism to a world of sharing sustainability. We also remember that in Scorpio the power of the spirit of humanity can triumph.Esoteric Astrology as News for the week of Nov. 4–10, 2010 For Sun and Rising Signs

Scorpio, Voting, Nine Tests

Scorpio, Voting, Nine Tests

In Libra, we’re made aware of two polarized realities (backward or forward, past/future) so we can later make informed choice. In Scorpio we act upon our choice. Which brings us to the subject of voting (choice to vote, what we vote for). I voted early this year, making a conscious choice so the opposition wouldn’t assume power by default - by my not voting. I urge everyone to vote.  Not voting is a choice allowing the “other side” to win. Voting is part of responsible “discipleship” (Scorpio task).

Scorpio Sun initiates the autumn festivals of light in the “dark half of the year” (Halloween, All Souls, All Saints). Halloween or El Dia de los Muertos, begins the three-day festival of ghosts, goblins and spirits, good and bad, allowed to pierce the veils separating worlds (planes of consciousness). We honor the spirits, especially relatives and little ones (angels) with altars of food, marigolds, candles, copal (incense) and prayers of greeting and hope. Skeletons glide by, appear as cookies while in dark places things go “bump in the night”.
Sun and Mercury are in Scorpio. Hermes (Mercury), the messenger, sends information to humanity via the Sun. It’s a Scorpionic message, concerning Scorpio’s Nine Tests of the personality, given each year at this time, preparing us for discipleship (Scorpio & Sag), service (Capricorn & Aquarius) and saving the world (Pisces). Mars provides the tests as Pluto transforms us. With Mercury in Scorpio, communication (ours/others) can be unconsciously unkind, merciless and heartless, leading us to choose a formal study of Non-violent Communication or Compassionate Communication techniques. So we’re no longer unconsciously cruel.

We Hold These Truths to Be Self-Evident

Saturday, July 4, is the 239th birthday of the United States, commemorating the signing of the Declaration of Independence (the U.S. astrology chart has Aquarius moon—freedom for its people, by its people). Cancer, a liberating and initiating sign, is the “gate” where Spirit enters matter. Cancer receives and distributes Ray 3 (Divine Intelligence) and Ray 7 (new rules, new rhythms, new free nation under God). Cancer represents an intelligent freethinking humanity that can and must create right economics for the world. This means a policy of sharing, an opportunity for the U.S. when Venus (money, resources, possessions, etc.) retrogrades July and August in Leo (the heart of the matter). The United States has a unique spiritual task for the world: to lead humanity within and toward the light, accomplished by its people who must first awaken to this task, learn discrimination and be directed by the soul to assume the Herculean task of spiritual world leadership. Let us review the first words of our Constitution: “We the People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish justice, ensure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this constitution for the United States of America.” Let us form that union together. The following is a review of the spiritual tasks for each sign. Read all the signs. They all apply to everyone.
