Scorpio, Voting, Nine Tests

RisaNewSIn Libra, we’re made aware of two polarized realities (backward or forward, past/future) so we can later make informed choice. In Scorpio we act upon our choice. Which brings us to the subject of voting (choice to vote, what we vote for). I voted early this year, making a conscious choice so the opposition wouldn’t assume power by default - by my not voting. I urge everyone to vote.  Not voting is a choice allowing the “other side” to win. Voting is part of responsible “discipleship” (Scorpio task).

Scorpio Sun initiates the autumn festivals of light in the “dark half of the year” (Halloween, All Souls, All Saints). Halloween or El Dia de los Muertos, begins the three-day festival of ghosts, goblins and spirits, good and bad, allowed to pierce the veils separating worlds (planes of consciousness). We honor the spirits, especially relatives and little ones (angels) with altars of food, marigolds, candles, copal (incense) and prayers of greeting and hope. Skeletons glide by, appear as cookies while in dark places things go “bump in the night”.
Sun and Mercury are in Scorpio. Hermes (Mercury), the messenger, sends information to humanity via the Sun. It’s a Scorpionic message, concerning Scorpio’s Nine Tests of the personality, given each year at this time, preparing us for discipleship (Scorpio & Sag), service (Capricorn & Aquarius) and saving the world (Pisces). Mars provides the tests as Pluto transforms us. With Mercury in Scorpio, communication (ours/others) can be unconsciously unkind, merciless and heartless, leading us to choose a formal study of Non-violent Communication or Compassionate Communication techniques. So we’re no longer unconsciously cruel.

Esoteric Astrology as News for the week of Oct. 28–Nov. 3, 2010 For Sun and Rising Signs

ariesAries-March 21–April 20
Finances and resources, personal and with others, are highlighted. Careful attention is needed along with concentration, efficiency, economy and strength. Accomplish these day after day in a slow consistent rhythm. You may uncover more resources. So many things are hidden during Scorpio. Remember others who have much less. Share and tithe, a constant reminder to you. Tithing creates great abundance.

April 21–May 21
You want to move consistently into the future with new ideas and plans but there are so few who understand, few with your illumined vision, and even less with your force of will and stamina. Always you strive for poise during transition times while sending prayerful requests for able, intelligent and financial assist to manifest into form and matter. Your prayers prepare the field. In the meantime, keep gardening.

May 22–June 20
Deep feelings, emerging from early life at home are playing out in your present relationships. Be careful of thoughts, actions and communication. Careful that you don't become part of the difficulty or project onto others your pain. Don’t hide your vulnerability because everyone will be vulnerable, too. Showing yours eases barriers obstructing heart-felt communication and contact. You want love. Love comes from intentional contact.

June 21–July 20
You may experience stress in your daily life as constant change occurs to everyone everywhere in your life. These daily changes reflect the pulse of the humanity playing through your body. Thus you need stabilization, an immediate sense of purpose and staying within the safety of home. Make changes in small ways. When viewing the big picture stand with compassion and dispassion. Children bring both blessings and hard work.

July 21–August 22
It seems you want both retreat in order to bring about a sense of creative freedom. This week should bring heightened sense of feeling separated from others which you may enhance should your communication be harsh. You are able to be very intuitive so observe your thoughts carefully. Are you feeling like a transformation is about to occur? Are financial needs being served? A sudden revelation occurs which expands you.

August 23–September 22
Small changes occur in your personal life creating big changes. Money may feel restricted, communication may be hidden (from whom, why, where?), there’s a desire to run away so regeneration can take place. What is occurring, Virgo? The seeds of the future, life-changing, are breaking through. You’re restless for emotional independence. Allow inner spiritual intentions to hold you. Transformation arrives.

September 23–October 22
You’re called to a past situation and then to a present-future one. The past holds and keeps you for awhile in order to liberate it. The present/future creates optimism. There is fear. One contains judgment, the other love. Both are risky. One keeps you spiritually lonely. The other shifts you into a loving community. Can you identify the two sides and where you're positioned? Forgiveness is alchemical. The past needs this.

October 23–November 21
For about a year, you will participate in changes behind the scenes o f your life, internal changes, that create your coming future. You're anticipating change and it comes with a revelatory impact. Be aware of a need to serve others, of growing compassion and becoming, if you choose to be, a model for others. Scorpio is the warrior. You’re prepared for the coming times where the death of the old finally occurs.

November 22–December 20
You’re restless, yet duty-bound, seeking security yet craving freedom, pleased yet dissatisfied and stimulated within conflicts. You’re a paradox once again. Allow contradictions to work psychologically within you. They create new insight, revelations. Don't push them aside. They are the Harmony Through Conflict process Sag works through to bring new consciousness forth. A natural force into the future.

December 21–January 20
Do you feel pulled pulled between self needs and responsibility to family, relationship and work? Are you seeking freedom? Are your perceived needs upsetting home, family and relationships? Are you able to communicate clearly what your needs are? Do you need new communication skills for others’ understanding. You are definitely on the “cross” of change. It’s imperative you learn how to communicate to others.

January 21–February 18
Some Aquarians are experiencing great work success. Some will be traveling the world soon seeking community. Both are experiencing honor and popularity, expanded social and work reputations, tending to financial responsibilities, developing new business or life plans. They’re climbing the ladder of success as they define it (some don’t), and doing more than they thought capable. And succeeding. Keep going.

February 19–March 20
You need flexibility in great amounts as interruptions and unexpected events occur in all parts of your life, geographically and in terms of your self-identity. You cannot prepare for what will happen. You can only soothe the waters with knowledge that what occurs is redesigning your life in ways you could never have designed yourself. You're capable, sensitive, sensible and smart. And being looked after.

A Ritual & Initiation

The Pope has come and gone, but his loving presence ignited new hope and goodness in many. While he was in NYC, China’s ruler arrived in Washington D.C. East (China) and West (Rome), meeting in the middle, under Libra, balancing sign of Right Relations. The Pope arrived at Fall Equinox. Things initiated at Fall Equinox are birthed at Winter Solstice. The Pope’s presence was a ritual, an initiation rite—like the Dalai Lama’s visits—offering prayers, teachings and blessings. Rituals anchor God’s plan into the world, initiating us to new realities, new rules. The Pope’s presence brings forth the Soul of the United States, its light piercing the veils of materialism. The Pope’s visit changed things. New questions arise, new reasons for living. A new wave of emerging life fills the air. Like a cocoon shifting, wings becoming visible. The winds are different now. Calling us to higher vision, moral values, virtues that reaffirm and offer hope for humanity. A changing of the guard has occurred. Appropriately, this is the week of the Jewish Festival of Sukkoth (’til Oct. 4), when we build temporary homes (little huts in nature), entering into a harvest of prayer and thanksgiving, understanding our fragile and impermanent existences. We are summoned to reflect upon our lives, our humanity, our nature, our spirit and each other. Offering gratitude, becoming a magnet for others. We observe. We see the needs. We love more.
