The Many Signs of Prediction

RisaNewSMany signs predicted the Japanese earthquakes. We must realize there could be more. The astrology—Uranus in Aries (all things news); the upcoming “super full moon”; Jupiter opposite Saturn; the solar flares, sun spots, the Ray 1 Shamballa Force. It’s predicted a mega-earthquake hitting Japan presages greater (earth) changes everywhere. Change always begins as destruction with simultaneous opportunities for new creations. The economic markets, affected, are falling. The Mideast crisis (revolution), Libya, gas prices, and now Japan’s (U.S. ally) catastrophic quakes/tsunami impact world economies—we are in the midst of an economic (Ray 3) reorientation. Uranus’ last entrance into Aries was the Great Depression. We must be prepared for an unstable future—prepared with knowledge and practicality (water and  food, etc.).
Saturday is St. Joseph’s Day, a feast day for all fathers. It’s also the “super full moon” solar festival (29 Pisces/Virgo). The New Group of World Servers, especially at this time, invites everyone to recite the Great Invocation, the Mantram of Direction for humanity. Spring arrives Sunday (World Astrology Day and Purim). Uranus remains in Aries for the next seven years. Transformation happens. (Read more at nightlightnews.com and Risa’s Esoteric Astrology FB.)

Esoteric Astrology as News for the week of March 17– 23, 2011 For Sun and Rising Signs

ariesAries-March 21–April 20
Your true calling comes forth. No longer just a burning ground of aspiration, as the world begins to reorient everywhere, your initiating abilities appear, you gather philosophical beliefs and goals. Now at the highest level in terms of world work, you begin to see your career emerging in terms of how you serve the culture, build the new civilization, how you serve humanity so their gifts come forth, too. You’re at the doorstep.

taurusTaurus
April 21–May 21
So often you remained in the shadows, didn’t speak up, thought others would do a better job. This gave you time to develop needed strength and stamina, awareness and abilities. Now staying behind the scenes is no longer is advisable. It’s time for you to communicate, teach, lead, facilitate, and make the transition from dark room to lighted world. You offer hope to humanity, illuminate their minds through education—these are the “waters of life.”

geminiGemini
May 22–June 20
Much of your life has been about observing the needs of others and stepping into the field of service. This has been good. However, there comes a time when your focus must shift from other to self. That time is now. You need new study, new people, new information. Your inner self calls for this. You’re ready to answer the call. However, some are hesitating. The world will always put others in front of you. Release everyone to their own Souls.

cancerCancer
June 21–July 20
Who you’ve been will no longer be who you are. What you’ve been asked to do is no longer what you can do. All the responsibilities you’ve assumed for so long will begin to chafe, annoy and irritate you. You will gradually want fewer tasks and more things social. Your creative gifts want to come forth and be seen. The larger world, beyond family, needs you now. You need flowers.

leoLeo
July 21–August 22
Over and over you’ll review plans, agendas and rituals in your daily life. And over and over these will change. They concern your work, health and all environments. Old concepts turn to new concepts; discoveries break the mold of how you’ve worked and what you considered healthy. You’ll seek new settings that allow for freedom to pursue areas, kingdoms, people, places and the very things your heart desires.

virgoVirgo
August 23–September 22
Three words—creativity, opportunity, options. What could these mean to you, in what areas of life? Gates will open, the sun will shine in your garden, and a new creative impulse will help you not to feel so alone. You’ve had to make adjustments; you’ve lived on hope. Soon, new times will come, a new self-expression, too. Love renews itself. And a new philosophy takes you on a new journey. Be sure to have good shoes.

libraLibra
September 23–October 22
All that’s important to you, all that formed your beliefs and foundations, will be revised. This is a part of growing up, growing older. You took a path into a new world long ago. You learned new understandings, relieved yourself of whatever restricted your identity. You will begin to build a new path now, based upon a revision of values, a sense of self-assurance, and knowing that this brave new world will support you.

scorpioScorpio
October 23–November 21
You will find the need to speak the Truth in many situations. Usually you stand aside, allow others to be the voice of society. However, this is changing, you become the voice of reason, allowing no false information to pass you by. You are aware of the impact of untruthfulness and of speaking in ways hurtful to others. Your work becomes a response to world events. Destiny calls. It’s within your heart, written in the stars.

saggSagittarius
November 22–December 20
People think of you as philosophical, but recently you’ve become security minded, wondering, as you age, how to prepare and build a strong system of resources for later times. It feels like destiny has arrived. You sense this and attempt to bring forth purpose, energy and passion to whatever you believe in. And so, the question is what do you believe in? What is most important to you now? The answers are surprising.

capricornCapricorn
December 21–January 20
You have stepped into power, a most interesting situation.  Authority figures, not understanding the energy of relationship or astrology, may feel you’re challenging them, which you aren’t. However, your very presence challenges previous beliefs of those in authority. You bring revolutionary change. And so what does this mean for you? A call to leadership requirines you to display your ability to lead with both will and love.

aquariusAquarius
January 21–February 18
As outer world events around you continue to change, you turn inward, in order to understand events and requirements of the new world coming forth. It will only be your inner environment that can provide context to the outside world, as only your inner world understands the truth of all matters, understands Right Direction and Right Attitude and how to shine a bright new light on all business matters.

piscesPisces
February 19–March 20
New opportunities and decisions will present themselves concerning your work in the world, career, and how you’re recognized. You seek a change of focus, a greater impact on humanity, a larger humanitarian picture to unfold. You are affected by the needs of humanity and will call forth new purpose, new endeavors, and the outworking of a dream held for generations. Hold on. It’s almost time.

Dancing In the Rain

District Attorney Bob Lee’s death in October stunned the Santa Cruz community, but he had battled cancer fiercely—and privately—for more than a decade. Now one of his closest friends reveals the remarkable inside story

Giving and Giving, Then Giving Some More

2014 is almost over. Wednesday, Dec. 17, the Jewish Festival of Light, Hanukkah, begins. We are in our last week of Sag and last two weeks of December. Sunday, Dec. 21 is winter Solstice, as the sun enters Capricorn (3:30 p.m. for the west coast). Soon after, the Capricorn new moon occurs (5:36 p.m. for the west coast)—the last new moon of 2014. Sunday morning Uranus in Aries (revolution, revelation) is stationary direct (retro since July 22). Uranus/Aries create things new and needed to anchor the new culture and civilization (Aquarius). We will see revolutionary change in 2015. Capricorn new moon, building-the-personality seed thought, is, “Let ambition rule and let the door to initiation and freedom stand wide (open).” Capricorn is a gate—where matter returns to spirit. But the gate is unseen until the Ajna Center (third eye), Diamond Light of Direction, opens. Winter solstice is the longest day of darkness of the year. The sun’s rays resting at the Tropic of Capricorn (southern hemisphere) symbolize the Christ (soul’s) light piercing the heart of the Earth, remaining there for three days, till Holy Night (midnight Thursday morning). Then the sun’s light begins to rise. It is the birth of the new light (holy child) for the world. A deep calm and stillness pervades the world. The entire planet is revivified, re-spiritualized. All hearts beating reflect this Light. And so throughout the Earth there’s a radiant “impress” (impressions, pictures) given to humanity of the World Mother and her Child. The star Sirius (love/direction) and the constellation Virgo the mother shines above. For gift giving, give to those in need. Give and give and then give some more. This creates the new template of giving and sharing for the new world.

Best Bites of 2014

A look back at the year in good taste

What downtown business is good for both one-stop shopping and last-minute gifts?

The Homeless Garden Project store. Because it is a community effort and has really useful and beautiful things, and allows you to connect with a lot of folks who are doing great work in Santa Cruz. Miriam Greenberg, Santa Cruz, UCSC Professor

Vino Tabi Winery

One of Santa Cruz’s most happening areas to go wine tasting is in the westside’s Swift Street Courtyard complex. Ever since a group of about a dozen wineries got together and formed Surf City Vintners (SCV), the place has been a hive of activity, and a wine-tasting mecca. Adding to the mix is the lively Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing beer company—making Swift Street Courtyard a perfect spot for a glass of wine or a pitcher of ale.
