Saturn Square Pluto, Dark Sky, New Moon

RisaSaturn squares Pluto Sunday in cardinal signs Libra/Capricorn. Cardinal signs bring forth new realities, squares force us onto new pathways. As Saturn disciplines us toward reality and truth (the breakdowns, economic crisis, shootings, etc., are engineered), Pluto simply transforms everything relentlessly. Libra is about relationships, money, economics, Right Relations, Right Thinking and Right Values while Capricorn rules governments, leaders and the entire structure of our civilization. This Saturn/Pluto square occurs again Jan. 31 and Aug. 21, 2010 moving us forward on a trajectory of constant and ceaseless new direction, change and transformation. All of this humanity needs in order for our present unreal financial system to move toward a real economy based on principles of sharing. Day by day, transit-by-transit, planet-by-planet, sign by sign, over time this reorientation (Scorpio work) will occur. At first we will have suffering. Then realization.

Venus is in Scorpio for the next three weeks (till Dec. 1 at Full Moon). With Venus in Scorpio our feelings, often hidden, show themselves directly. (There's more at nightlightnews.com.)

ARIES (March 21-April 20) You become deeply intuitive, your business sense soars, especially if working with another, unusual for you yet this is how you move forward. If passions seem to ebb and flow, and at times stop altogether, it’s because you’re assessing which path to take, which behaviors are beneficial, and what resources are to be used most effectively. Your work in the world is daily becoming more potent. Be sure to add love to all you do.

TAURUS
(April 21-May 21) You tend to your partner, close associates, those you love and words of care and tenderness, invitations for closeness are spoken. This is unusual for you. However it is the truth of what you feel. Seeking closeness, you come closer and your attitude is one of benevolence, commitment and loyalty. On the other hand, you are physically drained and must rest most of the day in order to accomplish small tasks. Tend carefully to health and limit all extraneous activities.

GEMINI
(May 22-June 20) Your spirit needs art and creativity to flow through each day lest you become dry as a thistle in the desert’s heat. You should not gamble. However many will and for moments you will find prosperity, but it’s as fleeting as a tumbleweed. You find yourself flirting at times, then bringing loved ones closer and then walking away at a moment’s notice. Constancy you will learn someday—when another walks away.

CANCER
(June 21-July 20)   Do you have a deep sense that others care for you and that they will tend and nurture you when you’re in need? Nurture all associations and interactions in your life so you feel the possibility of care from others become a reality. Do you feel separated from family and loved ones? It’s hard to share and be close from afar. However whatever interactions you have with them are deep and profound. Make your love for them into an art form.

LEO
(July 21-Aug. 22) You may never want to leave home, or if you must it’s for a very short time. Careful with implements (tools) in your environments and daily life. They can become dangerous if not handled with awareness. With great discipline you can now prepare your body for utmost fitness through dietary and exercise choices. Interactions with others may feel very difficult. Try mightily to have Right Relations. Love, no matter what!

VIRGO
(Aug. 23-Sept. 22) You will feel conservative with money and resources and this is good, for later that money and those resources will be needed. However, there may arise some material necessity that is expensive (buy it) or someone in great need (help them). You will find these choices appropriate. Social interactions become important and if you find there’s no one around, speak with the garden devas. They respond.

LIBRA
(Sept. 23-Oct. 22) Are you feeling overworked and overextended? Are you tired early in the evening and do you awaken before dawn? Plan on resting more at home. And while there, look around. Do your rooms need renovation, especially for the holiday season? Try not to splurge this year. Use the resources you have already accumulated. They are beautiful and they are enough to make the coming season filled with the light of beauty.

SCORPIO
(Oct. 23-Nov. 21) Is your heart shouting about everywhere, is it on your sleeve, in the air, acting like a shooting star attempting to connect with everyone everywhere? And yet you stand behind the curtain, a bit fearful of revealing to others your vulnerabilities. Know that you’re simply trying to connect so that love is released. Love underlies the entire world of events. However, that fact is hidden until you reveal it. Why you? Because you’re the disciple and humanity, the potential world disciple, needs a mentor.

SAGITTARIUS
(Nov. 22-Dec. 20)   Parts of you are shy about intimacy. It hides behind your sense of adventure, traveling here and there, being cheery even in times of stress. It hides behind your laughter, which erupts in times of pain and crisis. Amidst your love of food and adventures, a call to duty, a vocation into service, is searching for you. Each crisis leads it closer. One day a door will open and you will walk through. The unobtainable becomes the obtained. Patience. And keep laughing.

CAPRICORN
(Dec. 21-Jan. 20) You have the ability at this time to organize social events that become areas of healing and comfort for others. Your sense of justice, ethics and aspiration to serve humanity allow you to comfort and counsel those who mourn, those in need, unnoticed, unseen, overlooked and left out. Slowly your personal power and capabilities for doing good are recognized. Each opportunity reveals another.

AQUARIUS
(Jan. 21-Feb. 18) Your imagination will give rise to great ideas helping you feel confident, successful and expanded where beforehand you felt held back. There’s a secret to personal success and it’s available to you now. Allow your heart to speak. Not your desires, but your heart. Tell the truth about how you feel at all times. Speak of your needs, hopes, wishes and truths. These make you authentic. Those in touch with their hearts will recognize you.

PISCES
(Feb.19-March 20)  In years to come, a group project will begin to manifest. It will have profound effects upon humanity. The seeds have been planted and although you feel impatient, the project seems not to have manifested. Gather flower and vegetable seeds wherever you are. Plant them everywhere, in fields and meadows and small patches of soil. Share them with others. This is the metaphor to carry you forward with calmness, courage, surety and stillness.

Gemini Sun, Pentecost, Shavuot—Enlightenment and Gladness

As the sun enters Gemini on Sunday, sign of speaking, communication, thinking, inter-relations, writing and understanding languages, the feast days of Pentecost & Shavuot (Catholic and Jewish festivals) occur. During Pentecost’s 50 days after Easter, tongues of fire appear above the heads of the disciples, providing them with the ability to understand all languages and all feelings hidden in the minds and hearts of humanity. It’s recorded that Pentecost began with a loud noise, which happened in an upper room (signifying the mind). The Christ (World Teacher) told his disciples (after his ascension) when encountering a man at a well carrying a water pot (signs for Age of Aquarius) to follow him to an upper room. There, the Holy Spirit (Ray 3 of Divine Intelligence) would overshadow them, expand their minds, give them courage and enable them to teach throughout the world, speaking all languages and thus able to minister to the true needs of a “seeking” humanity. Pentecost (50 days, pentagram, Ray 5, Venus, concrete and scientific knowledge, the Ray of Aquarius) sounds dramatic, impressive and scary: The loud noise, a thunderous rush of wind and then “tongues of fire” above the heads of each disciple (men and women). Fire has purpose. It purifies, disintegrates, purges, transforms and liberates (frees) us from the past. This was the Holy Spirit (Ray 3, love and wisdom) being received by the disciples, so they would teach in the world and inform humanity of the Messiah (Christ), who initiated the new age (Pisces) and gave humanity the new law (adding to the 10 Commandments of the Aries Age) to Love (Ray 2) one another. Note: Gemini is also Ray 2. Shavuot is the Jewish Festival of Gladness, the First Fruits Festival celebrating the giving of the 10 Commandments to Moses as the Aries Age was initiated. Thus, we have two developmental stages here, Jewish festival of the Old Testament. Pentecost of the New Testament. We have gladness, integrating both.

What’s your take on Santa Cruz locals?

Santa Cruz locals are really friendly once you know them. I think a lot of them have a hard time leaving, and I would too. Ryan Carle, Santa Cruz, Biologist

Soquel Vineyards

If Soquel Vineyards partners Peter and Paul Bargetto and Jon Morgan were walking down the street wearing their winning wine competition medals, you’d hear them coming from a mile away. This year was particularly rewarding for the Bargettos and Morgan—they won two Double Gold Medals and five Gold Medals at January’s San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.
