And what are his chances at making it to No. 1 on ‘Idol’? I think he's amazing because he's a young kid and he's not afraid of what other people think about him—to be up there and do his own thing like that. He has a very good chance.

He's just really passionate. He gives it his all without holding back, and he seems pretty authentic. I actually think he does have a chance at being No. 1 from the little I've seen on YouTube.

Good rock and roll music makes James Durbin rock, and he definitely has what it takes to be No. 1. I happen to know he can do it because he played my 50th birthday party and he was terrific.

The way he gets into his music…
if you see him perform is much different than if
you hear him perform because you can tell how into his music he is.
And it's just a powerful thing. He definitely has what it takes.

I never thought I would love metal

As a senior I was never into the heavy metal music but after listening to this young and honestly passionate man I now have his recordings on ipod and love to listen to all of them, even the metal. I hope all the best for this young man. I don't feel sorry for him though. He took his being different and made it his own and his open emotions are a welcome change. My six years old grandson has Asbergers and Autism. He is the happiest kid I know and seeing James play out his dreams give me hope that one day my grandson will also be able to play out his dreams. Thank you James.

Iv known James sense he was a small boy.he's the real thing !!! just talked with his mother Judy the other day. This is an amazing journey not only for James Durbin and his family but for us who live in Santa Cruz because he is a true passionate artist who embraces life and people where ever he is.He was teased as young child for being different but he alway seemed to keep his joy and move forward with the support of his mother and two sisters and now his wife to be and thier child which seems to have increased his zest for life..Glad to know him and thrilled santa Cruz is a part of the journey along with James.always a fan !!!
